Twitter is a Bieber Believer | Bieber Fever | Twitter Marketing

Oh Justin Bieber. The teenage pop sensation who rocks the same hair cut I donned at 17 years old. It is well known that he ranks high in the Twitter sphere. For the longest time, until Twitter literally changed their algorithm, he constantly was the number one trending topic. He uses his Twitter fans for wake ups, in one of his more odd Twitter norms. Until recently it was unknown just how much of Twitter JB is taking up, but now the results are in. Justin Bieber himself takes up 3% of Twitter’s Servers. After he tweets he receives 60 @ replies a second, something Twitter wasn’t originally designed to handle.
On Justin Bieber.

Creating a strong and effective brand is important for businesses large and small, but simply creating your brand is not enough. Branding experts estimate that 35 to 40 percent of a company’s market capitalization can be equated with the company’s brand. A potential forty percent of your company’s value is not something you want to fritter away through lax handling. Your brand shows the world what you stand for and tells your customers what they can expect from you. If this message is not consistent across the board, customers may become confused or grow suspicious. Your brand should be carefully nurtured and reinforced through consistent usage in all areas of visibility, including business cards, brochures, websites, proposals, even, or perhaps especially, promotional materials like hats, t-shirts or pens. To get the most out of your brand, you want it to convey the genuine personality of your company, an image which should not change from week to week, or depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
QR Codes the Big Mobile Marketing Tool?
Filed under Authentic Web Marketing | Posted Aug 27, 2010 |
QR codes may possibly be the next big mobile marketing tool coming our way. They are codes that you can find on business cards and promotional material. These codes are scanned via cell phones by taking photos of the code and processing it. The message from the code is immediately transferred to the smart phone and it can come in the form of a URL website, general texted information, or any other form of creative content that can be viewed from a smart phone. With all of its potential, QR codes provide an additional channel to share social media content. The information that is shared can be a YouTube channel, all of your twitter and Facebook information, or maybe even your live tweets.
Here are some tips for implementing QR codes into your business and marketing plans:
- -Figure out what content you want to be shared
- -Make sure that the content is relevant
- -Visit QR generators like Kaywa, Zxing Project, delivr, QR Stuff, or Maestro.com
- -Once you are on the sites choose your form of QR code
- -Use the simple to use form of linking the code to external information
- -Before you are finished make sure that the code works!
- -Once it has been proofed, go ahead and share your code
- -You can share it on business cards, resumes, flyers, t-shirts, or anything you want

A strong brand image is a fundamental element for any business, large or small, online or brick-and-mortar. But what is your brand? Your brand is a visual expression of your company’s core values and mission. This can include your logo, your byline, your website and other mediums through which you communicate your company’s message. It is the face you present to the world, a promise to your customers. It expresses who you are and what you stand for. No one can (or should try to) be all things to all people. Accurate and powerful branding can be utilized to draw in the types of customers you most wish to serve and swiftly establish a sense of trust with customers who feel you share their core beliefs. Research has shown that brand name recognition can increase profits between ten and twenty percent, creating added value for your company through an established perception of quality, and by creating emotional attachment between your company and your customers.

As of Friday Aug. 13th IBM announced they would be purchasing Unica a software analytics firm for $480 million. This all-cash deal will pay out $21 per share for Unica going from Thursday’s closing price of $9.55 a share to $20.76, an $11.21 increase. So why the premium purchase, IBM had said it was acquired to add more of a personal marketing service. Unica, which is known for helping its clients develop targeted campaigns using its analytic software that predicts customer preferences and behaviors. The analytics companies with a client list of 1,500 including eBay, Best Buy, Monster and US Cellular have all proven a successful track record to show why this deal will be a success.
IBM will integrate Unica’s 500 employees into its solutions and analytics team of 5,000 staff members. This purchase is only one of many that IBM has been working on, for the next five years IBM will be spending $20 billion buying up similar firms. In the recent past both analytics firms CoreMetrics and Sterling Commerce had been purchased by IBM.
With this move, IBM will have strengthened its portfolio within its software and service teams. This is an active approach to reach customers who may have gone to Oracle or Hewlett-Packard in the past.
